Hormone Optimization Therapy: How it works

Steps to Success

Step
01

Investigate

“Lets find out why you came in and what may be causing or contributing to your issue”. New Patient intake (online or paperwork in clinic) and “Optimal Health Assessment” – This visit will include a review of your history, physical exam, and, if applicable, lab testing to help determine where problems may lie.

Step
02

Review Of Findings And Treatment Plan

Once labs have been reviewed by your medical provider (typically within 1-3 days of your initial visit) patients will return to the clinic for review of clinician’s (medical provider) findings and recommendations for further evaluation and/or treatment if needed.

Step
03

BEGIN PERSONALIZED TREATMENT PLAN

At the beginning of treatment, testosterone replacement therapy patients (or other hormone replacement patients) are advised to have follow up visits every few weeks in order to dial in the treatment regimen and achieve best results possible. Every treatment plan is different because every patient is different. Depending on the patient’s treatment plan follow up visit intervals will vary. This will be reviewed with the patient prior to starting any treatment plan.

Step
04

Maintenance & Optimal Health Checks

after 12 months on a given treatment plan many patients will be stable and optimized on their given regimen. At this point, weekly to bi-weekly visits are no longer necessary and less frequent visits into clinic can be considered. Health assessments (exam and labs) will be done every 6-12 months to ensure continuing optimization of health and wellness. Any significant setbacks experienced during this maintenance phase may require return to Step 1 for investigation.

For those patients using insurance:

New patients

(meaning those on therapy for less than 1 year)

New patients are recommended to have follow-up visits about every 1-2 weeks for evaluation and, if on TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) program, a testosterone injection. This whole process should take no longer than about 15 minutes.

Stable patients:

Stable Patient (typically meaning greater than 1 year on therapy and with stable clinical response and labs). In select cases stable patients who opt for, and who are also approved by the medical team to be good candidates, can discuss less frequent visits into clinic to evaluate their condition/progress. This may require the patient to administer the medication themselves at home.

For Self-Pay patients (those not using insurance):
